JAMES BOND IS BORN A WOMAN. WHAT CHANGES?
~ Jamie Bond was born in Glencoe, Scotland, somewhere within the 1980's because she looks about thirty and can be counted on to consistently lie about her age. Whether she's older or younger depends on the party she's entertaining.
~ She's was an only child and daddy's girl. He was an armament salesman and a charming man; her mother, a serene. Both were adventurers and took their daughter abroad with them while her father, Andrew Bond, was on business. It was this adventurous spirit that left Jamie orphaned at 11, when her parents became involved in a mountain-climbing accident.
~ She is adopted by her aunt, but is shortly after sent to Fettes College, in Edinburgh. This suits Jamie fine, seeing as it was the same college her father attended. Fooling around is to be expected in a co-ed school, but Jamie finds it just as fun to beat the boys at their own games, sometimes up to and including 'who can snog your girlfriend the best?'. This is the start of a rather unhealthy competitive streak. Jamie graduates without a hitch.
~ After finishing school, and barely 17, Jamie returned briefly to Skyfall while she determined her next move, as an emancipated young woman. She was finished with school and wanted to travel. So she joined the British Royal Navy, lying about her age in order to attain rank quicker when she excelled over man and woman officers alike in her duties. She was involved in the Kosovo conflict and began fighting the new war in the Middle East in 2003. It's the Navy where she picked up many of her current loves, and simultaneously many of her bad habits.
~ During her involvement in the Navy, she's recognized for her skill and leadership, but is still subordinate to a fellow, male officer when given a special task by the government. Despite this, she rather nimbly manages to put his face in the mud and use him as a springboard to winning the glory herself. The crew likes her better, after all, or at least want to shag her more.
~ She enters the British Secret Service at a few years over thirty and retains rank in the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. She hates the desk job and makes this very known to her superiors in ways only a woman can... And ways they really shouldn't. When she's put into field work, it's as an attache (much like Eve Moneypenny) and nearly loses her job when she does what she always has: swoops in to one-up her superior partner. After injury to both agents involved (but ultimately, the job is managed, if by the skin of teeth) and a thorough reaming, she promises to play her part.
~ M retires and is replaced by a woman. Jamie admires her, and admires her more when she's presented the chance to earn her 00 status. To some extent, they understand one another very well. That doesn't mean they don't butt heads straight away, or keep butting heads long after they've earned one another's respect.
~ Celebrating her status as 007, Jamie also adapts the alias: James. Officially, this is to keep the enemies who hear of her thinking they're waiting on a male nemesis. Off the record... this may or may not be her way of thumbing her nose at all the men who wished to see her stay sitting at a desk.
~ She presents an air of indomitable confidence, a woman who can be as empowered in heels as she can with a gun in her hands. James seems open and easy-going, a quick wit and charm that makes her seem in control of whatever situation she's placed in. It's as easy for her to be suggestive as it is for her to suggest insult to whoever she's entertaining. She won't flinch at showing off her sailor's vulgarity to catch a rise out of someone, either.
~ Despite her seemingly extroverted demeanor, James can be very jaded, and actually prefers being on her own. She's incredibly self-serving, and if she doesn't let her think about it, she has no qualms making tools or prizes out of people.
~ Her body is her weapon, just another tool she wields for her goals. James didn't sleep her way to where she is now, but it'd be a lie to say she never greased the wheels, or heavily suggested that she was willing to. She knows how to use her curves and angles and her pretty face to beguile, but there won't be any flinching from a fight just to protect them. She knows just how to maneuver to make sure she hurts what she hits.
~ By the same token, James does not like killing. She accepts it as a necessity, but if she can avoid it, she will.
~ James has a bold competitive streak, especially when it concerns men, because they're more likely to throw a temper tantrum when she wins. Anything you can do, she can do better. Even if that means she's got to cheat a bit, or face the wrath of a very sore loser. With more honorable men and women, this can, happily, be a more friendly, fun trait. She still doesn't like to lose, though.
~ A habit for pushing people, including her superiors.
~ She has an addictive personality, and her favorite addiction is
~ Sex is an indulgence that falls surprisingly low on her go-to list. Drinking, smoking, sailing, and sport all comes before it, sometimes even television. Sex, for her, is usually more an act of vanity, and she employs it more sparingly than her male counterpart does. Have no doubt: it's still holds as little meaning as the aforementioned activities, but she's not as quick to hand it out as a pass-time. For every three times her male counterpart has slept with someone, she might have had one throw, and dismissed the rest for other ventures. Her reputation and her flirting might speak otherwise.
~ Scottish accent. Think Craig!Bond with a Connery accent, then feminize it.
~ Men: Competition, likely targets, and generally less complicated driving motives. Inclined to the destructive. Pick for a rough shag or a good excuse to drink something stiff, nothing more.
~ Women: Information, prizes to be won. Possibly a threat in terms of cunning and betrayal, but physically tend to be weak or otherwise non-threatening. Considered the most untrustworthy of the sexes, yet they tend to be the more attractive to James, and she's more likely to actually fall for one, logic be damned.
~ Alcohol: Often to abusive quantities. She likes scotch a lot, but she'll take a martini too - shaken, not stirred.
~ Cigarrettes: Personalized with three golden stripes and a special blend of tobacco. When she's not in the field, she tends to chain-smoke them like no one's business.
~ Gambling: Addiction.
~ No tea. Coffee, please.
~ Aston Martin cars are still her heartsong. Bonus for a passenger ejector button.
~ Shot, surprisingly, only twice, in the line of duty.
~
~ Sports: Golf, rock-climbing, tennis and badminton if she has to.
